Black Castle Tower “Crow Castle”
Okayama-jo Castle
After a major renovation of Reiwa, it reopened in 2022.
This castle was built by Hideie Ukita, a vassal of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and is one of the 100 best castles in Japan.The clapboard of the castle tower is painted with black lacquer, and it is also called “Ujo” because it looks like a wet feather color of a crow when it hits the sun.
From the top floor of the castle tower, you can see Asahikawa below and 360-degree views of Okayama Korakuen and the city.
